David RobertsonDavid Alan Robertson (Ph.D. 1983, Pennsylvania; Lecturer) is Director of the Mary and Leigh Block Museum of Art, and serves on the steering committee for the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in the Arts at Northwestern University.  He has held museum positions at the University of Chicago, University of Oregon, Dickinson College, Yale University and the Victoria and Albert Museum.  He was Fulbright Professor at the University of Munich in 1989/90 where he undertook research in the field of late-medieval, early-Renaissance German sculpture and painting.  In 1994-1995, he served as President of the Illinois Medieval Association and co-editor of Essays in Medieval Studies. His publications include articles entitled Michelangelo’s St. Proculus ‘Reconstructed,’ (Art Bulletin, 1983), Museums in Germany (Grove Dictionary, 1996), and The Schnitzaltar (Grove Dictionary, 1996), as well as numerous exhibition catalogues on a broad range of topics.  He serves on the visiting committee for museum accreditation for the American Association of Museums.
